[QUOTE=yeliaB,Feb 8 2006, 05:33 PM] Here's the numbers for my hopefully-soon-to-arrive '06, right off the sales sheet:

car cost + dest fee: $30,265

tags, license fee: $56.00

misc fees: $392.95 ($298.00 for "dealer services" + $94.95 for "electronic filing fee")

tax: $907.95

total otd: $31,621.90

If anyone's interested, I got this deal by using the Fighting Chance (Google for it if interested -- I'm just an extremely satisfied customer) "fax attack" method.

Winson123 and WayneTek,
YeliaB is not in California, because the tax on his car is too low. You will pay more than $2.2k tax for $30k car, because tax rate here is 7.5% minimum.
Try to follow his advice about "Fighting Chance" to see which local dealer will give you the lowest price. But you need to keep in mind about service too. If a dealer closest to you asking for few dollars more, do you like to drive 20-30 miles to another dealer to save a few bucks ? How about car services and convenient ?

You should looking for car loan independent of car purchase, this way you may get the lowest car price and interest rate too.

Good luck

Low miles are not important on our car. You just want to look for wear and tear (inside seat bolsters, soft top, etc.). The low miles are just important for resale. If this were under 10K, I'd think it might be worth their target.

Sorry to repost, but this thread seems more appropriate than starting my own.

We have an offer of $28k + $300 doc fee for a leftover 05. How good is the deal? I would jump on it, but the fact that an new 05 went for $26k in Albany kinda sours this deal.

They have a few color schemes to choose from: yellow, silverstone, suzuka. Would any of the color scheme be worth $28.3k?

What do you guys think?

silver, you can get one for that price, REAL easy. Unless Cali prices are ridiculously high, there was a MY02 with super low miles that went for 20k near here.

As for insurance, unless you have a perfect driving history and 25+, your insurance is going to be high (and even then...). Keep in mind it's a convertible... it's an 'achievable' convertible that alotta people I have a feeling end up making claims on (spinning out, etc). There's not much you can do about that
