I like the late model Subarus -- and own two of them albeit no WRX models.
I always wonder at the "preference" for a S2000 lacking traction and stability control. There's a switch on the dashboard to disable mine and the DBW system can be tunes for substantial increased mid-range power without resorting to hours on a dyno. But it's good to have choices.

It's more raw in its essence. Pure, unadulterated sports car. I'm an S2000 owner that has no intention to mod or tune my car. If my S2000 was of higher mileage and was driven more often to justify modifications/tuning, then I would consider it. I'm going to leave mine untouched and enjoy it as the designers at Honda intended it to be- we as an s2000 community don't need any more "100% Bone Stock, except for the exhaust and radio" examples out there. Pure, original examples are nice in their own right, and quite honestly a breath of fresh air in the streets nowadays. Too many stanced and hacked up S2000s are popping up in my area.
Anyway, that's off topic. Bottom line '00-'05 owners love their cars for a certain subset of reasons, and '06-'09 owners love their cars just as much, albeit for slightly different reasons. OP, where'd ya go?
