Default SiR for S2000

Hi everyone,
My name's Pat and i live in Montreal Canada.

I am a week away from being an s2000 owner, woot! 2004 AP2 30 000kms.

I am freaking out a little bit, because i have to part my road monster for a stock car.
Here is my 2002 SiR hatchback, 95 000kms, putting down 221whp and 165 trq with a small conservative tune of 40 minutes on the dyno.

I need something for the track. My EP3 is great, but it is FF. i need to keep my investment alive, so now is the right time to sell my EP since it is below 100k kms.
Also, i just need something more serious. A Civic doesn't cut it..

Please tell me i am doing the right move... cause my Civic was almost fully built, Daily driver, and probably a little faster than the S2K stock. plus, i don't have to spend 5Gs to make 10hp more...

Sounds like you'll miss your SiR a lot if you were to buy an S2000.

it does sound like it...
i mean it is almost fully built. i just needed an lsd, a tsx motor swap with the charger one it (270whp), tires, wilwood brake kit and i am set. the s2 stock outbreaks my civic/wilwood (almost), the suspension beats my suspension, ect... modded SiR and stock S2 are about the same in my eyes. after dumping 10Gs in the civic, the stock S2 laps just as fast. so i am imagining putting in 10Gs in the S2...
yet, it still remains an FF, and it still remains a Civic. and cause it would be swapped, it wouldn't worth anything anymore.

I don't like old cars, and i want to keep the "investment" alive. I think i am making the right move forward, cause after the S2, i can only get something more powerful...

i just put in so much effort in the Civic to realize it's not exactly what i am looking for on the track. (it's not just for lapping though.)
The EP3 is getting a little old... making noises and stuff..
sell it, dump 5-8Gs more, get S2, sell that in 2 years, put in 5-8Gs more, move on to someting stronger.

i'm just looking for you guys to tell me:" ya man s2000 is amazing, you won't regret it. i never regreted mine..."
lol...

I think you'll miss your Civic more for sentimental reasons rather than performance. Performance-wise, you won't look back. I never really liked convertibles, but there is nothing quite like cruising top down on a summer night.

i was in a similar situation with my last car. I had it nearly fully built. Only to realise that even with every mod under the sun it would bearly outperform a stock s2000.

I thought what if i pull all that time and money into an s2000 instead. So i parted my car out and saved the money in a money market account until my new s2000 was ready for mods. I bought a KraftWerks kit for my s2000 and i am sure i will never look back.

Good luck with your s2000 its a great platform. I think you'll be happy with it.

I went from an rsx to an s2000, and I dont regret the jump for a second. The s2000 really is an amazing car. It still brings a smile to my face every time I jump into the drivers seat. I have never owned a car that i have had fun driving every time i get in besides the s2000. You may end up missing your civic a little bit, but i dont think you will regret the purchase of an s2000.
