This is how the story goes. I'am going to purchase, a s2000 in about 2-3 months pending I find one that I really like. The thing is with all the research I had been doing, I really was not sure if I want a Ap1 or Ap2. I was always partial to the Ap1 driving them on a few occasions. Then all of this research turned up the Ap2 having upgraded pieces/more torque and almost as much top gear pull. I was completely rdy to find out which I want, and I couldn't sleep until I knew.

So, I do a search trying to find a 04-05 s2k, I wanted them cause no traction control. Lucky me I found a BB MY04-42k for 18,500. I had to drive it(just driven a MY01 week before) So I go up to carmax, take a look at the car, completely agreeing that the AP2 has better body parts/interior. Something just didn't feel right though. I didn't feel as thrilled or happy to sit inside this one. I put down the top, and go for a spin. I leave the dealership, and there is a stoplight at the on ramp. I wanted to feel the torque difference so I gunned it, felt great low end/slightly more than AP1. I then get on the interstate keeping it in second hitting 7800k shift. I then took all the way up to 7k in 3rd shift agian. Slow back down, cruise in 4th doing about 65-70. I get off, do some city driving hitting vtec a couple of times. Got back to the dealership, and when I parked, I go out, and didn't feel the car calling to me. It didn't feel the same, something was wrong. I then realized Ap1 was for me.

Ap1 felt to just pull top end so much harder, it had great vtec, screaming all the way to 9k. True the Ap2 torque was a bit better, but IMO was not enough to make a difference or make me want it. The cockpit of AP1 feels more raw, just feels like its meant to scream. All in all, both are wonderful cars, and a newer car is always great. I'm not saying I wouldn't get a MY04-05, but It would have to be a GREAT price, and lower miles. MY choice now is a MY02-03 lower miles(65k or below) IN White,Black,Silver,Suzuka. Wish me luck on my search!

Exactly, why I am choosing the 02-03. Rear glass window, and I have also heard 02-03 has a little bit more horsepower. Lets hope I can find a White one with redblack interior under 65k for 12-15k.

 

AP1 all the way... I could have bought an AP2 if i wanted but since this is a weekend car i wanted something to give me a thrill and the AP1 certainly did it for me over the AP2. AP2 more of a daily driving car the way it was set up where as the AP1 has more of an aggressiveness to it. Thats my $0.02. Good luck on your search

Thanks for all the support guys, I want to hear from the Ap2 guys, Im not knocking on the car at all, I guess I just drove the Ap1 first, has a special place in my heart.
