definitely go for a glass window though, you can always upgrade your 00-01 for not too much(600-1k) depending on if you self install.
Good luck!

Being a newbie here, I have to admit that this was an enjoyable thread to read. 03 BB S2K had a great post. I've had quite a few "fast" cars in my day. (5.0 Mustangs, C5 Corvette, Buick Grand National.) I'm really interested in an S2000 for the same reasons he posted. I think they are great corner carvers, they look good, my girl will most likely love the top down driving, my son will just laugh his a** off when I'm whipping around in it with him. NOT because they're "speed demons." I'm not looking to race one, I'm just looking for the fun factor. I'm sure the argument can be made that if you do X,Y &Z to them that they'll run 9 sec 1/4 miles and if you do A,B &C they'll 1:01's around Barber but for me it's all about fun. Please keep the Ap1 vs. Ap2 debate going, I'll take all the knowledge you guys can throw out. And Ap19kftw, good luck with your purchase bud, hope you enjoy it.

thanks guys, i appreciate all the input. I JUST LIKED THE ap1 for how fun it was to drive. it seemed to just have more of a fun factor. True, the interior isnt AS nice, but i actually like the dash of ap1 more. center console of ap2 is slightly better, either way both nice.. i started my search already, i found a 03 bb with 42kmile for 14888, but i will keep looking, i want my cpw..

Thanks for your kind words but that's my $0.02. I've done lots and lots of research and i drove dime a dozen S2000's. The AP1 always put a smile on my face where as the AP2 didn't. Car's that give you thrills are ones that are raw. The AP2's with added features and such as traction control restrict the driver from pushing the car to it's limit. I like to know that i can push the car to the limit the way i want how i want. But god forbid i make a mistake which can turn into a tragedy but i am pretty cautious when it comes to that. Folks keep high speeds and racing for the track only. Your life is more important than just a few minutes of an adrenaline rush on the roads.
