Love my AP2 and you can turn the drive by wire off...,
Um....no you can't.

But I hear you can turn off the traction control.

To the OP: sounds like the cars were as different to you as they were to me, in the opposite way. I really couldn't get passed the dearth of torque from the AP1. It really made a huge impression on my test drives. And the AP2 interior is more....polished. As my DD, I wanted to have a nicer looking interior...

Exactly, why I am choosing the 02-03. Rear glass window, and I have also heard 02-03 has a little bit more horsepower. Lets hope I can find a White one with redblack interior under 65k for 12-15k.
Just so you know, the red & black interior was not made for the 02 or 03 GPW. If you want white, the 02 has the all red interior and the 03 has the tan interior.

Ive owned both ap1 and now ap2 and can say confidently that the ap1 does not pull harder on the highway or "much harder" as you describe. AP2 Feels faster to me all around. I pulled a 13.9 @100 with my ap1 with megan exhaust, testpipe, k&n fipk and no pass. seat with a 2.1 60ft. AP2 did a 13.8@101 with just a testpipe.

The only Honda cars that i know meant to be fast is the NSX or a Honda Formula one car. S2000's aren't all that quick whether it be AP1 or AP2. This car was built more for twisting and winding roads that's where the thrill factor comes in and the AP1 takes the cake over the AP2 because of the features omitted such as traction control and such. I would take a 9000 rpm red line over 8200 rpm any day. Plus it sounds way cooler to know you can rev the beast to 9000 rpm. That's what makes the AP1 unique. AP2's don't have anything unique about them. They rev up to 8200 just like my RSX-S did. Enough said
