i see milyunmiles is worried about the switch to rwd as well. I guess its all just a learning experience and take it easy for a while as you learn a new driving style.

^ precisely. Driver's school, autocross, and track time are all great for learning the limits.

It's even fun and instructional to practice sliding around in a snowy parking lot. I don't do that with my S, but I like to do it with my Sidekick.

I've done 250 miles with no problems of comfort at all. It was actually quite enjoyable. Space wise, it does lack in that dept, but who cares? For what the car is made for, that shouldn't be a concern.

Thanks all for your replies on this.

The more I've been thinking about a new car, there's one that keeps coming back again and it's the S2000. Something about the S2000 just makes me think "Yes! Let's get in there and just drive" lol.

Considering we wouldn't expect to spend too much time in the car at any one time (I'm thinking about driving from the south of England to Scotland and back maybe once or twice a year), I don't think my girlfriend's concerns about it being a little cramped would be enough to sway the decision if I can argue hard enough to get an S2k!

In terms of driving the car, I guess it's just a matter of practice. I'm fairly confident (but not over-confident I hope) of my driving ability. And I really want to be driving this car...

I'm sure I'll be back with more questions about the car as my search progresses, so thanks for now and see you later
