well if you like the srt, and didn't like the was the s2k feels, stick with what you have.
i personally find the s2k to be heads and shoulders above the srt, but that's why i drive an s2k and you drive the srt.
oh and ap1 and ap2 are the different generations of the s2k. ap1 is 200-2003, ap2 is 2004-2009.
my suggestion if you are looking for a vert coming from a srt, look at a v8 mustang, if its within your budget, an 03-04 cobra. i think that something along those lines would suit your tastes better.
as for the s2k's reliability. they are as reliable as any honda. as long as you keep up with the maint, and don't do anything overly stupid/abusive.
lol, srt4kkid...
i will have to say you seem like you really like your SRT4. I was looking at purchasing one before I got the s2k, so I think I'm slightly more open minded than most people on the forums about american cars. (had 3 F-body cars, and my dream car is a vette)
I say go for the s2000 if you can afford it/its in good condition/you dont mind fixing a few things.
1) SRT4 will definitely be faster in a straight line unless you go FI (if your srt is modded properly) Once you get the s2000 FI, all bets are off and its just a matter of how much $ you're willing to drop. I'm going to say the s2k will probably be easier to get more power out of (at first) but the srt4's engine will be cheaper to purchase parts for.
2) SRT4 is definitely cheaper built. NO bullshit. The s2000 feels...well designed, the SRT4 not so much (not terrible, but not as well designed)
3) The s2000 will definitely require less maintenance other than a few things: Check the convertible top, check oil consumption, check for strange noises. Actually, instead of me listing them all...read the s2ki FAQs in the "under the hood" forum
4) The s2000 steering, suspension, clutch, everything is amazing. My biggest gripe coming from the camaro (M6) to the s2000 was that the clutch felt "Light" that the "short shifter" still required more motion than the camaro shifter... but those are all just a preconceived notion. Jump in a s2000 for a week, get back in the SRT4 - THATS when you'll notice how spoiled you were.
