Thumbs up THEFT RECOVERY/SALVAGE TITLE question.

Are most s2000 that are stolen striped down to the chasis? or are just the seat and interior stolen? another question is if a car is stolen for a joyride and found in perfect condition does it count as a salvaged title? im looking to buy a AP2 for like 15g's but its has a THEFT RECOVERY/SALVAGE TITLE (the seller is not responding to my e-mails). What do you guys think? thanks for your responce.

its not always a matter of what was replaced, but more of a matter of what they did with it once it was stolen.. most likely, if a car is stolen, its beaten the crap out of by the thieves that stole it.. and yes, even if one is stolen and found in perfect condition, it is still counted as a salvaged title as long as it is reported.

salvage means it cost more to repair the vehicle than what the vehicle is actually worth. not all thefts are automatically labeled "salvage". i wouldn't touch that vehicle.

i bought a salvaged one.. but i bought it from a dealer that only does salvage and rebuilt cars and they do a pretty fine job of it. i've had my s2000 for 2.5+ years now and had absolutely no problem with it. i got it for $18.5k, 2002 model with 23k miles back in 2004. i have 63k miles on it now and still no problems at all.

but i would still say its a RISK.

also when you end up selling the car down the road youll have to find someone thats wants a car that has a salvage title which isnt as easy as you would think
