Thinking about buying a S2000/ Intro thread
How's it going guys. As it stands I currently do not own a S2000. I daily drive a 2013 Jetta TDI and play around with a 2011 Mazdaspeed 3. I love the Mazda but it's obviously limited as a front wheel drive vehicle. I've done quite a bit of work to it, just about every bolt on part that exists as well as a larger turbo (GTX3071r)and a tune. Like I said, I love the car but as I get older I know that it's not going to hold my interest as a long term project car.
After first seeing the S2000, especially the AP2, I knew I wanted one. The styling is absolutely sick and from what I've heard it handles extremely well. I'm still not super familiar with the platform but I think I would definitely be looking to bring the power up if I did buy one. My goals would be just north of 400whp. I love my bigger turbo on the Mazda but I could definitely do without the associated lag. I've read that it wouldn't be unreasonable a supercharger to get me in this range.
Anyway, these are just my initial thoughts. I know I need to do a lot more research into what preliminary modifications I would need to make. Any pointers or advice are always appreciated, thanks.

If you pick one up, try taking it to at least one autocross while it's still stock. A lot of us have come from big power cars and left our S2000's powertrain pretty stock because the S2000 made us realize we like pushing the car in the corners more. I'm north of $10k in just parts on mine and it now has 1whp peak more than stock but turns and stops a lot better.
