Time for my Intro
Hello S2Ki
My name is Derek and I am a proud owner of a 2006 LBP with just over 10,000 miles. I picked her up a little over a week ago for 21k. She was a well kept weekend toy for an older car enthusiast.
I'm 21 and a [rising] senior accounting major at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. I made the move from a lightly modded 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 that I thoroughly loved. I just really wanted a convertible and a drivetrain that was nearly bulletproof. The Mazdas' transmissions are mush and the community is struggling to reach 400whp with a built motor and 35Rs... It's an unbeatable car if you plan to keep it stock though.
I've bought a cheap intake (FIPK) to hold me over for motor mods for a bit. I'm currently saving up for some KW coilovers and some wider wheels. I loved the HPDE that I took the Mazda to at VIR and I would like to get back into that when time permits.
I've had a lot of cars in my 6 year driving career... but they each served a purpose for what I was into at the time:
'66 Mustang (289ci Auto)- Project
'88 Toyota pickup (5spd 4x4) - DD in high school
'99 Trans Am (BBK, bolt-ons, and wheels- LS1 6spd)
'03 A4 (1.8T 5spd Quattro)
'97 Civic hatch (SI goodies)
'07 MS3 (SRI, TP, electronics, suspension, wheels)
Thanks to working my ass of in high school and making a few solid investments, I've been able to afford all of the cars myself- just needed a cosigner. Also, I've never been in an accident nor have I received a speeding ticket. (knock on wood)
Hopefully I can meet some of you guys at meets or something.
