tips on searching for a used 2000?

Default tips on searching for a used 2000?

does anyone know of things to watch for on the 2000 and 2001 models? or does any know what to look for in buying a used s2000? i need all the help i can get

Service records and carfax if available. Also, what I did to make sure mine wasn't beaten on too hard is check to see if it still has the original brake pads and clutch, should give you a hint to how hard it was driven. Check all the VINs on the body parts to make sure they match. The list goes on and on...

Also you should make should the car shifts properly. I've seen a lot 00-02s that have really messed up trannies due to abuse and the infamous 2nd gear grind ...

Also, check for holes and/or major wears on the soft top. Soft top's pretty expensive to replace. (not to mention you don't want a leaky roof when it's pouring outside)
