For any S2000: Got a garage to lock it in at night? Leaving on the street or a parking lot (or on campus) is asking for damage or theft.

For a summer fun car -- 2d car -- it certainly beats any Civic but only some days of the week.

AP1 owners tend to hype the "raw power" and the few extra hundred rpms the engine provides. That's advertising a liability as a benefit in my opinion but, of course, I own an '06 AP2 with a Gernby tuned engine. You have to flog an AP1 to get any performance. AP2 has more mid-range torque so we don't need to beat the critter all the time. Yep, we all justify our purchases.

If you're going to bugger "mod" the car get a cheap AP1 to play with and keep the Civic. Bet you'll reserve the S2000 for play time.

S2k in 3 words? Sexy, handling, pleasure. After test driving it I knew it really was the car I've been wanting. Car will stay in my drive way. I don't plan on adding power mods, mainly suspension/wheels and tires to add to the already great handling. I plan on daily driving it with no worries

I have had mine for about a year. (1 year in June). I have a custom 3.5" intake, Invidia Q300 catback, and fortune auto 500 coilovers. I have other non performance things done to the car for reliability, and appearance/comfort as well. I daily the car and couldn't be happier. I'm going to get another car shortly to daily during the winter months, but this car has treated me very well.

If you have the space you could get an S2000 and an old 4wd Jeep or truck for cheap.

Nice! I plan on putting the Q300 on mine also. Have you tried driving it in the snow last year? I know my e36 was ass in the snow lmao

I have an e36 as my second car atm, so I'm going to have to deal with the winter this year head on with two RWD cars. Snow tires and a lot of weight in the trunk it is

Q300? Invest in good hearing protection and don't expect any female companionship on the road. Drone is headache inducing. My Q300 system lasted maybe a month and part of that time was the shipping time for the replacement Tanabe Medalion Touring dual system. The Civic owners at the local high school loved it, though. You did something like this to your Si? Any idea how you're going to tune an AP1 for exhaust (and I assume intake) changes?

Aftermarket coil-overs? What race track you planning to run. These are great for adjusting the suspension for a specific track where you take the same corner over and over and over..... For street and back roads you'll likely to ruin the very nice handling of the stock setup. Spend your money on 17" OEM wheels and good tires.

I don't have any problems with needing "hearing protection" for Q300 as chuck said. Some people are just more sensitive than others when it comes to sound. I did drive it in the snow. We got over 3 feet in MD over the winter, and it stayed in the driveway lol. We have good snow removal here in MD due to the snow we get every year, so its not a problem when I have to go anywhere during the weather.

OP, this is a bad idea.

Its that simple.

AP1 was my dream car as a kid.

I could've bought one at multiple points before I actually did, but I waited until I had a reliable daily b/c I didn't want daily the S2000. I'm much better off for it.
