Transfer- RSX-S to S2000
Hello all!! I also came from an '03 RSX Type-S, and man did I love that car. I thought it was quick enough for my needs, comfortable, and believed the shifter to be one of the best I had experienced until then. Then I test drove the S2000. And man was I impressed. I always tell people that the first thing I noticed before even starting the engine on the S2K was the transmission. All I did was move the shifter from side to side in Neutral and already I noticed how much more solid the transmission was on the S2K. My driving impressions were the following:
The S2K obviously seemed more cramped than the Type-S but then again it is a two-seater roadster. The seats seemed to hug me better, but definitely not in an uncomfortable way. Everything was in reach, which made me realize that this was definitely a drivers car. With the top up, the S2K is definitely noisy. At times you will hear sounds that you think are abnormal, but then, put the top down,, and it just growls, a pleasure to the ears. The turning radius is a little better on the S2k than on the type-s. The low end torque is a lot better on the S2K, but it is no Z28, but remember, it was never meant to be a high torque vehicle, just learn to drive it correctly. One thing that I do miss from the Type-s is the sound of the engine. Although I like the sound of the S2k better, the Type-s in the high rpms sounded almost like an electric motor. Hope this helps and sorry for the book, lol.

Not many bad things i really hear about it... but i do hear about how the driveability sucks.
and welcome to an awesome communityi think the s2k is uncomfortable depending on your size. i'm 5'8" and i think its perfectly comfortable but on the other hand my friends are 6'2" and they dont find as much room to play with the seats to get comfortable (although im sure they would sacrifice some comfort issues for an s2k
)
... the cars weight about the same but how do the engines compare downlow?
Also... one thing i hate on my RSX type S is the huge turning circle.... im wondering how good/bad the turning radius is on S2000.

Lastly... how bad is road noise? Ive never owned a convertible before. Any other problems with the top?
(although most have gotten a free new top out of it under warranty) u can see pictures and read more about this here... https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...pic=458723&hl=
How does the 6 speed compare with the one in the RSX Type S?
Thanks... appreciate the feedback and sorry if this is searchable... it didnt really turn up what i was looking for.
well hope i was of some help
the RSX S is great but as far as power, i like the way the RSX feels off the line but it feels like the top end power gives out to soon. the top end just fades out. (remember, this is going from and S2000 to an RSX S )
RSX is a good car to own if you need a little room and a back seat.
hell, i tried to buy a new one then ended up on the Honda lot buying a Used S2000. Im happy with it.

I drove a 05' Rsx type s for about 2 years then got a S2000 which ive been driving for 2 months. Heres what i think:
Comfort: Hands down the s2000 is more comfortable. It feels like a small inclosure, not a lot of dead space. The seats hug my body, unlike the rsx where i would tend to slide on hard cornering. In the S2000 your in more of a laid back position where as the rsx you might as well be sitting in a straight up chair. So Lazy-boy VS Chair = LAZY BOY!
Noise level: Come on i got a Invidia, do you think it matters? Drive the car and if you can complain about road noise, then its not the car for you. Its about the experience.
Cargo Room: The rsx kills the s2k in cargo room. I need not say more.
Performance: The S2000 is about twice as hard to control as the RSX. I can beat the RSX hard and never feel like im close to losing it, but on the S2000 Ive felt like im on the edge many times. But thats MY "edge". I know it can be pushed harder but im no professional racer. The RSX can also be pushed in the rain with ease where in the s2000 i drive very cautious in the rain. The bottom line is the s2000's rear end can lose traction fairly easy, where as the RSX is very forgiving.- The Ap1's engine is awesome! never driven a ap2 so i cant say on that. The rsx engine feels more linear then the s2000's, because when vtec kicks in on the rsx you barely notice. The low/mid end grunt(if i should even say it has any) on the RSX "feels" more invigorating then the ap1, but i know it isnt.
Gas Mileage: The Rsx got worse for me because i used to have to beat it all the time, where as the s2000 i cruise then beat then cruise some more.
These are my opnions on both the cars. I do believe the RSX is more fit for most people. But I love the s2000 far more then the RSX. BTW to get an idea of comfort im 5'11" 200 pounds, and my brother who says the s2000 is to small for him is 6'4" 190 pounds. SO i believe it also matters on how your bodys build is. Hope this helps

currently driving an rsx-s, and its a great car, practical, decently quick, good mileage, and plenty of room.
i live in oregon, where it rains like crazy, so i dont know if an s2k is good for me, although having driven a couple, its one of the most exhilarating cars ive ever driven.
a modded type S looks amazing, can be faster than s2k for the money, and is a lot more practical. but then you cant beat a convertible top with razor sharp handling.
depending on where you live and the weather, an s2k may or may not make sense.
I plan on picking up an s2k soon, and perhaps buy an si as a daily driver

Can you tell me what the most power ever put down on a STOCK BLOCK f22 or f20c has been?
Stoopid Fast racing has put down over 700 on stock k20 and k24 blocks...
And except for cams is correct...but this makes a HUGE difference!
Lets compare the number of all motor s2k's running 12's to all motor rsx's running 12's....RSX by far, mods are cheaper, and its more mod friendly.
I love my s2k, but i just have some issues with it
. I havent had a problem with any RSX's in a race before either...but their are more fast RSX's than their are S2000s for sure.

imo thats plenty of power. and i only researched that for about a minute and a half sy searching these forums.
If all your interested in is hp and how much hp you get from basic mods....buy a supra. We all know how strong that block is and how much better it responds to mods than an rsx.
About the 12s all motor comparison...a good amount of s2k owners are doctors, lawyers, hot moms, etc. who don't mod their cars. there are fewer s2k's on the road than rsx's. That being said....of course there are going to be more 12 second rsx's. The rsx was marketed towards teenagers and young adults...who just so happen to make up a large portion of people modding their cars.
And you mention cost of mods and all this stuff. Thats not an issue to most people who mod s2k's to begin with. If it is...dont mod it....buy a crx, and slap a peakboost kit on it and race that car down the quater mile. Im really annoyed with how many people on forums use 1/4 mile times as a measuring stick on a car's performance. the s2k was never made to blow peoples doors off....in a straight line. its designed to be fast through turns. its a sports car. the rsx is a tuner car. its apples and oranges.
When it comes down to it, theyre all honda's. The rsx, and the si for that matter are amazing tuner cars. But an s2k is a sports car. the rest is

I currently drive an Acura RSX type S. I love the car to death but my lease is running out and im thinking about a new ride. So naturally... loving my honda product im looking at the S2000.
I owned a '91 CRX, but have spent considerable time in Accords, Acura Legends, Acura CLs, and a little bit of time in a RSX. I wouldn't say that any of those cars exhibited similar characteristics, and certainly they were all very different from the S2000. In contrast, for me, almost all Ford products have a familiar feel, if you really like your F-150, but now want a sporty car, a Mustang might offer you something you like over other products, or if you want something more entry level luxury, look at an X-type. I think blindfolded I could tell I was driving a Ford, but I'd have a much harder time with a Honda if it was one I hadn't driven before.

Well said!!!
