Thumbs up Turbocharging an 06/07?

Hi all,

I'm looking to buy an S2000 when summer rolls around. After doing a lot of research, I decided that an 07 was probably best for me, especially since I really love the Laguna Blue. However, after poking around in the FI forums, I found out that the newer S2000's don't really have support for turbocharging, or for aftermarket parts in general, yet. Most people seem to recommend purchasing an older model, like an 03 or an 04, if you plan on going the turbo route.

I guess my question is - will good turbocharger kits be available for newer models, like the 2007, anytime in the forseeable future? Is it just the case that they take time to develop and aren't available yet, or is it possible that they may never come out (I read somewhere that the DBW may cause complications for turbocharging)? I don't plan on even really considering FI until a year or so after I buy my car, but it is definitely something I think I will pursue down the road. If the newer models are going to lead to a dead end as far as turbocharging goes, then I will seriously consider buying a used 03-04 instead, but that would kind of make me Can someone allay my fears and tell me that the turbo route will be doable for the 07?

Thanks

P.S. I thought this was more appropriate to post in the "Introductions" section since I am a prospective buyer and would like info to help me make my decision, as opposed to in-depth technical information about forced induction, but if a mod thinks this is more appropriate for the FI forum, please feel free to move it.

It is possible. I know another guy in Atlanta who is turbocharged with an 06, so it is possible. I can't give you specs or anything though. There are superchargers available already for the new models.

Thanks for the help

At first I had no idea what to search for so I didn't really bother, but I just searched "2007" in the FI forum and found my answer. It looks like all of the turbo kits can work on a 2007 with a few minor adjustments

Wow, that's quite the setup you have

Do you mind if I ask what kind of numbers you are putting down and how much you spent on all of it (including labor and tuning)?

I made 350rwhp @ 9 psi. I've spent around $8K on the turbo-related stuff and around $20K total thus far.
