Default Used s2000 what to look for?

I sorry if this topic has been covered before. I am hopeful that I am going to be an s2k owner soon! But I am wondering if I should purchase an extended warranty if I were to buy a used 2002 s2k. I own a honda now and am confident in there reliability. So are there aynthings I should look out for?

Thanks

Carfax would be a good start. I would look to see how many owners and the history of the vehicle. One owner is best.

There are members who avoided the extended warrantee even on new cars so I would not recommend it on a used car unless you absolutely feel you need it.

ive heard a few bad things here and there about extended warrenties though, however i am uncertain. are they as bad as mitsubishi, that at the slightest hint of modding will invalidate the warrenty?

Actually they can't tell you that your warranty is invalid if you do mods to your engine UNLESS that part thats modded directly damages anything else in the engine.

Check for wear on the inside of the soft top wear it might be rubbing against the frame. Many older cars develop holes in certain areas which basically leads to replacing the roof, not cheap.
