Default Va beach S2k Intro

Hey guys,

I'm Mike. I just bought an 2001 S2000 about a week and half ago. It has a wings west hard top/Espelir springs, skunk2 exhaust, AEM V2 intake and..17'' rota jmags, haha. I picked it up for 13k. It has 98k miles on it. I've already had to do the "Map whack" and ecu reset I love the car. Figured I'd introduce myself. I reside in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

This is my first S2000, I've been a custom to FWD Honda's for four years now. I've built quite a few cars, I just went from a 400whp GSR hatch (took the swap out, sold the shell and have a four door) kinda contemplating on wether I want to build the four door I have or sell it and help pay off the S .

I'll be browsing on here quite a bit now actually. This forum has already help me so far haha. The first mods I'll probably be doing to the car are some real wheels as well as a clutch (this stock ones a turd). I'll post up some pictures tomorrow, as a friend is suppose to be photog'n it. Later.

Thanks guys..

I'm still having trouble with this "take off" acceleration ordeal WTFUX. I cleaned the throttle body/intake, tapped the map sensor and reset the ecu. I don't know what else to do, replace the map I guess?

You talking about the hesitation or the bucking?

Hesitation is the MAP...if it's not been replaced with the newer zip tied version, you should just swap it out.

If it is bucking...believe it or not that is you. The AP1 throttle is very very touchy (was one of the changes to the AP2 was a slightly less sensitive throttle). It will take some time to get used to...you can tighten the throttle cable (should be a DIY in the Under the Hood forum sticky) to take up the play so it is more even.

Well, I figured out that it was "me" for the one issue, but the idle will drop real low sometimes and when I go to take off it hesitates. It isn't ziptied or anything like that, so I guess I'll swap it out. Do I have to get a new updated one from Honda? or can I just pick one up from like Carquest/napa?

Stay with Honda OEM for the MAP. It's not that terribly expensive.
