Want to get some advice for a purchase.
Hi, I'm ready to join the community by taking care of a S2000 for my current life. I've found a 2003 S2000 locally, at a dealership.
Here is the direct link,
2003 S2000
Although the 25k miles a year average driving bothers me, but the price does reflect this concern. The thing is, this car has been sitting there for over a month at that price, is there any negative reason why no one wants it (other than me)?
EDIT:
Dealership was dishonest about the price. Instead of first come first serve, it's "whoever pays the most wins". 2 sets of different tires, already requires new tires (additional cost). Obvious scratch on the trunk lid.
I'll be looking at a different car this saturday 11/18, was a leased vehicle, it's got an accident record with frame damage, air bags deployed, rear damage, front damage.
Some engline mods including AEM intake. http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/car/235389072.html
More info
Once again, thanks.

Fortunately putting 25k / year on a car usually isn't that bad. Since that kind of mileage is going to be mostly highway miles. Not sure about the prices over there in CA but that looks about right for around my area (which is pretty expensive as well)
-Check and see what the warrranty is.
-Get the Vin # and run it through Carfax.
-Test Drive it.
-Get the mileage and go to KBB.com and get the dealer price.
-Knock off a couple thousand and haggle the hell out of him with the price YOU want to pay.
-DO NOT TELL THE SALESMAN HOW YOU ARE PAYING, OR IF YOU HAVE A DOWN, TRADE IN OR WHATEVER. He/she dosen't need to know that.
Make sure you don't answer any of his questions, make him answer yours. All you need to know about the car is the price they are asking and the condition of the car and warranty. Low Ball them.
Also, go the last 2-3 days of the month, those guys will sell you a tank if they have to, they need to make their sales by the end of every month.

I think thats little high...maybe Im wrong. I know Im along ways away, but Im selling my 01' for 15000 on ebay right now, here take a look. Less miles, I know this car inside and out and is as mechanically sound as you will find. I would take less as long as it's reasonable. I still need to pay off my loan. which is 14,600

I'm surprised that no one has suggested that you take it to a mechanic (one you choose, of course) for a check-out -- especially a compression test. Many places offer such services. That would go a ways toward making you feel better about the high mileage (and it is indeed high). HPH

Thanks for the info and offers. But I believe I don't have much haggle power since the car will be dealer financed. I can only find faults to talk down the price.
The thing is, after I passed my 3 months probation with a new job, I started to look for a car. That was back in early October.
1st, I start to hang around the Cars for sales forum here. But unfortunately, people rather take cash than sign some forms to complete my loan. In another word, it's much easier to get finance from dealership (my FICO only 673 and 654) than a friendly seller willing to work with me and my lender.
2nd, I found the dealership and submit their online application for loan. They contacted me the next day. I'm approved for $17k/48mo/8.9%. I decided to bite.
Right now my lifestyle is just work and home. When I got home, my computer/xbox360/ps2....etc. are my best friends. I probably go out for a hair cut twice a year and buy some cloths only when I changes my job. I suppose the S2000 will change all that. The car might motivate me to go out every chance I got, just to drive it around. Maybe get some attention from girls, instead of hiding my face when I accidentally made an eye contact, I can nod my head and say "Hi."
I think the dealer offers 3 days money back. Perhaps I can use that time frame for the "compression test".
