Dude, no offense but they can see you coming a mile away. Get someone who knows what they're doing to help you out.

Do not wait for the return policy to get a mechanic to look at the car. Any respectable dealer will let you have a mechanic of your choice evaluate a used car BEFORE buying.

Your interest rate isWAY too high, especially for a 3 year loan.

Milage is pretty high, I would keep looking.

Be patient, you will probably own this car for a long time.

Up your dose of Prozac before going to the dealer to haggle. They can be ruthless you need all the confidence you can muster.

Good Luck!

Tax in California is 8.25% or more depending on where you live in the state. License and registration make up about 1.5% of the cost... so that is where they get the 10%. Sort of a rule of thumb for how much a car will cost you our the door, not an exact amount.

I thought this car is in better shape then the previous one. Plus this dealership seems much legit than the old place (in some barrio district).

I know I have bad credit, I've thanked God for getting me the interest rate below 9% for a used car. I was on creditboard and people there were happy to get a loan at all. My 650ish score fell in the same group.

It's just that doing a search on autotrader, the vehicles that are in good shape usually costs over $21k, plus the tax and registration (and loan interest) it would push it over the $25k...pretty much an used Z4 price.

I remember when I bought my supra from a private seller, he offered to write $1000 price so I can register the car at DMV cheaper. Turned out it saved me $300. Man that was a good deal.

Heh, it's funny that you've mentioned prozac, but unfortunately, my doctor prescribed me medical MJ....(insert the laughter).

It was remiss of me not to edit the first post that 85k miles 2003 car was last week, this week I'm looking at a 2002 65k miles car.

Here is the link
http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/car/235389072.html

It's from a more legit looking dealership too, they also work with Wescom so the loan could be easily transfer over, I'll be there this Saturday.

I want to thank all for the info. I bought the car.

Not the greatest condition, ripped top (won't open), dented hood (because it's hard to close the lid, so excessive force was applied to cause the dent), some scratches on the paint, missing air box, front bumper losing paint.

But I got so tired, I just decided to end the deal as soon as possible. For the next 4 years, I'm the owner.
