Default Well hello there guys and gals!

I thought I'd introduce myself as I'm new to the board.

I don't have an S2000, but plan on getting one rather soon. Currently, I have a 2004 WRX STI. I love the STI, but soon realized that I don't use the car for its true purpose (racing).

In reality, I don't race at all. That being said, spending $800/month for an STI which I use as a work commute vehicle seemed a bit foolish.

I'm really looking forward to the possibility of getting an S2000 soon. I've always been fond of the cars and their exterior looks as well. It just seems like a better choice for me. It's something a bit more mature, that doesn't scream "little boy race car" like the STI does (with the big hood scoop/wing/etc).

Not to really knock the STI because I do love the thing, I guess the S2000 just comes across as more mature in my eyes.

Talk to you all soon, and I hope to make many new friends! I'm currently also a member at the NASIOC forum (Subaru enthusiasts) and a longtime member at honda-tech (Creepshow STI is my username there).

-Cody

EDIT: I used to own a 1989 Honda CRX SI and a 2004 Honda CBR600RR sportbike.

Oh yeah, I'm in Vancouver (Washington, not Canada...Washington state, not DC). I'm about 5 minutes away from Portland, Oregon.

Cody, the S2000 is as much a purpose-built car as the STi. Interesting that you see the S2000 as more mature.

I strongly recommend you try to get some seat time in the S2000 to make sure you're doing the right thing. This little car is not for everyone.

In any case, welcome to the board!

Welcome aboard Cody.

I have to agree with Chazmo. Take a test drive to make sure it is what you want. I can't imagine you wouldn't like it coming from an STi (not knocking STi's).

Hi Cody, I use the S2000 as a dialy commute 'vehicle' too. It's my only car btw. I can see your point in people thinking of a boys racer's car more on the STI because it screams speed with the air intake, wheels, rear spoiler etc. Maybe the S does not scream that at first sight, but don't let that fool you Like Chazmo says, it's an equally purpose built car too. So if you want something fast looking more 'mature' as you call it, yeah, the S can be for you, but you will loose some interior- and trunkspace you've got now and it's RWD, but it is beautiful, fun to drive, it's a vert and you've got to love the high revving engine! Take it for a drive and let it get to you
