Default What Would You Pay?

The title says it all.
What do you think would be a reasonable / fair price for an 2005 S2k:
From a dealer
Not from a Honda Dealer so it's not "Honda Certified"
9,500 miles
Silverstone - Red/Black
Cosmetically in great shape with only 4-5 very tiny rock chips on the front section of the car.
Everything on the car is stock except for the shifter knob.
Please let me know if you're talking about out-the-door price, or just the negotiated value of the car
Your input would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to decide if a car I am looking at makes sense from a price standpoint.

I think new ones go for as little as $30-31k, so $27k seems reasonable.

Honestly, I would spend the extra ~$3-4k and get a new one. The price difference will work out to $20-$50 a month financed over 3-4 years.

You can get new for ~30k, so 27k is reasonable.

I would look up trade in value and try to score it as close to that as possible. You can get a new 05 right now for under $29k so $27 is way to high.

I payed $24 with 4k miles for my 04 in showroom condition from a dealer when it was exactly a year old, that was trade in value.

prices are pre tax

Thanks for the replies. So if I could pay $26K or so, this would probably be a good deal, right? This is what I will offer, we'll see if they go for it. Although I would love to be able to pay $24K - that was a great deal sf firestarter!

The plot thickens.

So I made the guy an offer, a bit lower than 26K. He called me back today and said he would entertain the offer, but it just so happens that yesterday, while the car was parked out on the dealer lot, vandals slashed the top and stole the seats. They would have to wait on insurance to replace the top and seats.

So, on to my next question: Would you buy a car that you know has been vandalized, or would you consider this damaged goods? I'm sure there are plenty of s2000s on the market with replaced tops and seats.

Also, if I do decide to consider buying this car, once the repairs are done and we settle on a price, what other damage should I look out for (anything that normally happens when the seats get taken out - seat rails damaged, etc?

Your comments will be very valuable...
