But its a DE!!! it is supposed to be heavy....LOL

I agree it is a chunk to carry compared to the other micros and .380s out there. I also have to come to terms with my gorilla fists and vienna sauge fingers when drawing and firng that thing too. I have to get on it at a range and see how/if I fit with it.

My Sig is too big for everyday carry, Kimbers are too expensive (though arguably the best feeling gun evar) my mothers LCP is cool but.....this DE is such a cream puff (as far as condition) and so cheap at the pawn shop.... I may have to just bite the bullet for lack of a better term.

I have a Glock 21C (.45 with the cut out in the muzzel to reduce recoil). Absolutely LOVE IT.

I carry a Keltec .38 very small and discrete. Keep it in my back pocket, so if a theif asks for my wallet...he'll get a little extra. Also loaded the final two bullets with rat shot. If my first shots don't stop them the last one will perminantly rearrage his mug.

Everyone needs to go to a gun saftey class and get shooting lessons from the gun range and not your buddy down the street (unless he's a former Marine, in which case you'll learn from the best). I only had to pull my weapon once and luckily nothing happened, they bolted and I had the addrinaline shakes.

If you own a gun, get a gun safe too, and keep your ammo separate (but close). Teach your +1 to shoot. They'll feel safer...and you'll be less likely to stray...

^^^^ never understood the whole gun safe or trigger locked + ammo seperate train of thought.... how in the hell are you going to defend your lives at home if you have to put together a weapon?

Not arguing...just wondering what protection a unloaded gun in a safe and ammo stored seperately is going to offer?

I have a 9mm (sig), clip in (mag safe rounds) but no round chambered ready to go in the bedroom...its descreetly placed and in a fairly unique location. I chamber a round in the weapon, engage the decock (sig safety) and I am in business.

describe the scenario where extracting a gun from a locked safe, then getting ammo, loading it, and then chambering a round is safe or even acheivable when seconds count?

Again, not flaming or arguing...just debating points... love and respect for everyone....seriously

Before I got that 92FS I was looking into picking up a glock 19c or 17c, great great guns but not so great for a carry or home defense gun. The two openings on the top of the barrel are there to help reduce recoil by diverting energy upward, thus counteracting the recoil. Problem is it diverts muzzle flash upward directly into your line of sight. Not something you want if the shit hits the fan.

The safe is mainly to keep unused weapons secure. There are small safes that are designed to go right next to your or any other small place that opens via finger print. This way you can leave a loaded weapon there without the fear or children or anyone else tampering with it. I myself have never used a trigger lock nor do i keep the ammo separate from the gun. Other then the guns that I keep put away (which are all sitting right next to their ammo), all mine are locked, loaded and ready to go at all times. I always keep a round in the chamber.

Cool

^^^ this I can agree with

A fingerprint single gun safe (within arms reach) or even a 3-4 push fingertip button safe is fine IMHO as long as an "open for business" weapon is inside of it.

do you safety your weapon if one is up in the barrel? even if you know where it is, and are used to that weapon, having a trigger "ready to go" might be a hair bit volitile if not at least decocked or in safety mode after you are jolted awake at 3:56 in the morning..... LOL

Yeah, my gun safe is the finger one and I can get in it really quick. My clip is in the drawer below, so the steps are simple (open safe, insert clip, rack and go). I keep everything separated because my nephews are over a lot and play hide-n-seek through out the house. Eventhough only my wife and I know the code, I still don't feel like chancing it. I have seen gun shot wounds up close...'tant pretty.

My carry is always locked and loaded and on my person or close by at night.

Niether of my guns have a safety (which are more of a waste of time than having to load your clip). If you think loading a clip and racking a round takes time, just wait until you point your gun at someone and pull the trigger with the safety on. This happened to my father-in-law's friend. The criminal punched him in the face, took his gun put it to his head and said "you just died." Then proceeded to kick his @$$. He ended up in the hospital with several broken bones.
