Default Headlight rubber seal

Has anyone removed the weather stripping around their headlights? Mine are very old (01) and my driver side seal has started to come off. The look makes me very angry. Thinking about just putting some clear silicon on it.

The weather stripping on mine was brittle and cracking, so like quite a few other owners, and when I found out Honda doesn't sell the stripping separately, I peeled it off and cleaned the area on both headlights. That was 2-3 years ago. Zero issues. I guess a bit of water could find its way between the top of the headlight and the fender (opted not to use silicon or anything), but I haven't noticed any.

So you just tore it away? How does the gap look?

I did. Then I cleaned the area (already had the headlights off for another reason). There's a perfectly even very slight gap. It looks better than it did when the strips were deteriorating.
