Default Owner Introductions (Meet and Greet)

Sometimes we do not know if there are new S2K owners in the area or not. If you are here reading through the FL pages, why don't you take a moment to introduce yourself? This applies to the legacy members here too who want to start a discussion. I will start below. You don't have to follow the questions below. Share anything you like--free-flow.

Tell us about your S2000? What color is it? My S2000 is stock and big bird yellow.
Why did you buy an S2000? The first S2000 I drove was in a AP1 in 2002. When I hit VTEC for the first time, it was really exciting and it changed the way I viewed cars. I later purchased my first s2000 in 2009 (05 Silverstone). I started learning how to check the oil, change the oil, doing brakes, etc., all because of the S2000.
What are you looking to do with your S2000? Cruise? Track? I am looking to continue to enjoy it in stock form, and take it on long trips to the tail of the dragon. Maybe a track day her and there.
Are you keeping it stock or modifying it? Keeping it stock
What's next after the S2000: The longer I drive the S2000 and develop as a driver, the more appreciative I am and the more I value it. We are starting a new era of high tech/electrified cars, and the pure analog driving experience is becoming only part of the history books. Cars like the S2000 are unlikely to ever be produced by Honda again. So I do not see myself not having an S2000, although other cars may come, stay, or go.
Anything else you want to share? It is a good deed to be a good caretaker of a car, but do not try to overprotect and preserve a vehicle at the opportunity cost of driving experiences you can never get back. Youth is a diminishing asset. I have had pristine S2000s and "driver's S2000s" with some battle scars. The "driver's s2000s" are the examples that brought the most joy because you can focus on the joy of driving.

Default New S2000 owner

Tell us about your S2000? What color is it? My S2000 is stock and the color is Berlina Black
Why did you buy an S2000? I have been looking for one for 5 years and then I found out that someone I knew had on in his garage for 2 years and I asked him for 2 years to sell it to me. Eventually he did and now iam the second owner of a 2007 Berlina Black S2000.
What are you looking to do with your S2000? I would like to take it out for cruises and put a ap2 lip and don't know what wing yet.
Are you keeping it stock or modifying it? Little modifications.
What's next after the S2000: Nothing is next. Going to keep it.

Welcome! You found a nice S2000 example from the 1st owner-being rare to find. How many miles on the car? Did you get to do all the fluids yet (clutch, brake, trans and diff)? I like the stock AP2 wing (if you can find one). Check the oil every fill up--although the AP2s do not consume as much oils as AP1s. Try to enjoy the car in stock form as much as possible. The stock suspension is very good. Hoping to put together a meet in the next few weeks.

Thank you for welcoming me! It has 93k miles and the first thing I did was change the fluids, a engine check light came on and I got it checked out at Honda (in st augustine) they said that it could be the catalytic converter. They gave me a place to get it replaced but I haven't gotten to that yet.

Nice. Good to hear you got all of the fluids done (especially clutch as it often gets neglected, which can lead to leaks under the clutch pedal). At 93K miles, and being a drive by wire (2006 +) important to do a valve adjustment if the previous owner has not done one. Here its a thread the information:

I forgot to mention that I did do a valve adjustment, I need to wait 1 weeks to pm Bill to buy the Billman tct and a new chain to get that installed after that I seems that my engine has a oil leak and I need to get that checked out to.

2003 Honda S2000

Tell us about your S2000? What color is it? Own the last year and the best year of the AP1! Silverstone
Why did you buy an S2000? Because its the only roadster out there other than a Miata that is made in Japan. And who wants to drive a Miata! lol
What are you looking to do with your S2000? Cruise? Track? I am looking to continue to enjoy it in stock form, and take it on long trips to the tail of the dragon.
Are you keeping it stock or modifying it? Keeping it stock for now, then Mugenazing it with all my MUGEN parts!
What's next after the S2000:LFA
Anything else you want to share? We need to have more S2000 meets and drives here in Jacksonville, FL. This is the sleepiest city in North America when it comes to S2000, used to be a lot more active. Now its a ghost town!

Welcome and thanks for introducing yourself. Glad to hear you were able to get your dream S2000. It's a great car. Hoping to get a coffee meet soon after the holidays for a meet and greet. Come out to the next Caffeine and Octane Cars and Coffee.
