I ran a CompTech SC with gears and 10-12lbs of boost and pulled on 'em, but a high boost turbo application will catch you and blow fuel all over your front bumper
I read these stories and wonder if people are dreaming. You say you pulled on him but did you win. The SC setup at 10 to 12 PSI, if tuned correctly, should be putting out around 370 to 380 rWHP and about 220 lbs of trq. I can understand you getting a jump but wining at the end is another story.

"pulled on him" is precisily what I did, it was not an all out race, and there was traffic,, more or less two friends just give'n it hell, we would like to take it to the track to see how it ends but I do believe it would be close. He is 360hp and 216tq.

Its all about power under the curve. And S/C lacks that. Thats what makes this stroker kit so appealing.

Ya and Inline, I don't know how I missed this thread. This is the kind of R&D that makes this platform so cool. You guys are pioneers if you ask me...not because you're the first to stroke a motor but because you're the first I've heard to take a 15:1 CR 2.7L motor passed 9300 rpm (regardless of the fuel you're running). This is the type of thing ALL of us would have said was not possible for a street car. Honestly, I'm stunned.

YA, is your car being used to develop any new parts us mere mortals will be able to use (such as cams)? It sounds like this 2.7L is a one off kind of deal...

Thanks man,

I wouldn't go as far as calling anyone pioneers, we are just having fun here.

I am using this car to work on new parts. Mainly a header, intake manifold, and helping someone develop cams. Its a great start, but I left the head stock to hopefully show how much our head porting will improve.

hopefully I'll have some free time to try to test some theories out

I have to agree. I wasn't driving, and it would be very interesting.

as for "power under the curve"...maybe true cause I really don't care or know.

HIS CURVE IS MORE LIKE A SPIKE!

It is mean as hell, and definitely a driver's race. Put me next to grandma and I would be all right. Next to 4bang...I would put my money on him. Probably some of the best money put down without doing any FI that I have seen. And he's being modest on the 360, it is probably more since I added header after the 360 dyno.

I saw 4bang in my Lancer, lucky he wasn't going way.

Courage: I was thinking the same thing on how I missed this thread also.

OK, give us a clue on the cams too...
Are you using Hytech?
If not are you testing with IPS or BuddyClub? I heard they are playing soon.

No I am not using Hytech, I can assure you this.

I will release the name of the cam as soon as I can.
