Default after installing j's header

hey guys, i just finished installing my J's header last night and i reset the ecu and then let it idle for about five min. and as it was idling i checked for leaks and came up with nothing. then after driving around for about an hour i heard a strange ticking noise inside the header. I put the car back up on a lift and had a listen and i just here ticking, sounds very close to valve tap but only its inside/or around the header. For now im assuming its normal but i just dont know. Anyone with the J's have the same noise? Thank you.

I think it's normal. IIRC alot of aftermarket headers tend to be really loud, and give off a metallic, "gainy/sandy", type sound.

Any aftermarket header will result in your being able to hear all sorts of engine noises more. Drive past a cement wall at about 5-6k rmp and you'll really notice it!

hah, well i really really notice it at idle. I was just scared because inline pro told me not to push it until i go back on monday, because of my tune being very lean. Of course i couldnt resist and had to push it after reseting the ecu and then i heard the noise and got freaked out. but boy does it feel fast.

The noise you are hearing is perfecrtly normal. Due to the very thin wall material j's uses you will here exhuast "ping". Nothing to be worried about its just something you have to deal with. I personly dont mind the sound at all.

did you replace the exhaust manifold gasket? Sometimes those can leak.

Check for soot deposits around the header.

Maybe with tuning. The J's header is a damn good piece.
