Then what's a reasonable horsepower figure for a 2.3-2.4L stroker that can serve its purpose as a reliable daily driver?

i'd say 250-280 depending on what kind of gas you are able to use.... 91 Oct. would be on the low end of that figure... then progressively increase with the option of 93, 94, 100, and 103 octane.... it's up to you based on the availability of high octange fuels in your area and how much you are willing to spend on it. 12.5:1 compression won't run well at all on 91, 93 a little better and 100 it will run fine.

you can build it online and calculate the power it will make approx.
