A good friend of mine has the APexi N1 exhaust. When he bought it I said he was nuts, that thing will be luder than an invidia. But when he installed it without the test pipe, to me it sounded like OEM or even less louder. He liked it. Felt a lil power gain.
The GT Spec is a 60.5mm cat-back exhaust with a 115mm tip (huge!), that info says the piping is 95mm for select models (ours excluded). I don't see how it would give you 12-15 hp, probably about 6-8 like most other 60mm exhausts. The muffler is huge and *appears* to be fairly high-flowing, so it may do better than most....
There's a pic, I got it off of a retailer website (eautoworks.com) and I'll remove it if asked. BTW they have a killer price on this exhaust!
There's another pic that I couldn't grab off the website correctly (too small), but it shows a straight-behind view and it looks like the exhaust hangs low enough that even with the huge muffler and tip, it shouldn't burn your bumper.
i had the gt spec on my itr and i really enjoyed it but it is on the loud side. the quality was moderate at best, the welds could have been better but i think my expectations are a little higher then the average person. these were originally designed for forced induction vehicles but they decided to offer them up to honda crowd over time. the muffler is huge on it but it flows very well.
Would Either the N1 or GT spec pass the California DB test. I like both of these exhaust myself but i would love them more if I got to hear a sound clip.
search time.
Without the silencer I doubt that it would pass db. I live in Southern California and I got pulled over in my old N/T Eclipse with an Apex'i N1. I got it db tested though and I got under 90 db's with the silencer, wanted to make sure I passed.
