It all depends on your budget and what you want. If you want power then go for the AEM.

If you want exclusiveness and bling then go Js.

I am looking at these brands (Moroso, Jegs, Canton, and Phase) for my NSX. Never heard of a couple of them (well I did but parts werent offered for the S2000) when I was modding my S2000... The brands are a whole new ballgame with the NSX.

So it boils down to what you want.

Good luck.

im just looking to gain some hp numbers without going turbo/supercharger. Currently looking for an exhaust, but thats not going too well. Looks like the one I want isnt manufactured any more (at least the company who made them closed down).

What else would you guys recommend to increase Hp?

The best way to increase horsepower are with the pieces in my signature. The J's header and T1R70mm with 70mm test pipe showed 218 rwhp untuned on AJracing's car. With a VAFC you should be looking at high 220s to 230. If the J's header is a bit too pricey, you should look into the Megan header. It hasn't been dyno tested yet but it should make nice high end gains.

As for an intake, yeah the AEM is good but it's pricey. I went with a 100 dollar unit off ebay and it works just as well as any. Simota is actually a known brand - I think they're out of australia or NZ or something.

Don't forget the positive chamber pressure that the J's will build at speed. Kinda like "ram air". That is where the throttle response is at its greatest. But the arc does the same thing with its HUGE chamber to hold a fraction of a seconds worth of air. But yes the ARC does heat soak like crazy in the summer. In GA I just kept mine through the winter then went FI.

intakes aren't about gaining power, they are about gaining throttle response,

the power you can gain isn't really relevent.

in my opinion the OEM intakes on most Honda cars have pretty good response. The AEM looks terrible, and I don't see why it would to much for response. J's looks fantastic, is well known for improving response. and it looks fantastic again.

I don't see why the ARC would lose power, I don't think I buy that, a power loss or gain of 5hp is pretty irrelevent as that could be considered room for variations in situation. and i'm sure the response is increased on the ARC as well.

In my opinion, with an intake, go with something that you love the looks of and is proven to improve response. don't worry at all about dyno numbers.

maybe consider using the ARC intake chamber with the OEM intake box. if that is possible.

^ do a search for dyno charts with arc intake. They usually lose power.

If you're going for max power on an NA setup, you need the best parts there are. Going half assed is not worth the money unless you're just going for show/sound.

Hehe I agree. But the main reason why some intakes that do not have an open filter element like the AEM/Injen intakes like the J's, Mugen, M's and possible even the ARC lose power on a dyno is because the fan in front just dosn't generate enough wind to simulate actual driving conditions, cause these intakes rely on the ram air effect to get the air into the intake. So choosing an intake based on dyno numbers isn't the best way.
