I have a new in box Cusco Oil Catch Tank, the only difference is the bracket and that area where the hoses attach are cusco blue instead of that gray color. Also in the picture the OP posted, the Catch tank is upside down. On the Cusco unit it has CUSCO laser cut on top. Other then that, it is the same exact unit.

I would be willing to bet that Shadow is right. Many manufactures do this. J's BBK is a rebadged Endless BBK. Same shit. Things are outsourced and then rebadged.

ASM outsources parts, just not sure what ones.

That looks just like a Cusco, but who cares. ASM =

Cusco makes parts for many distributors. Take for isntance Hood Dampers...ASM also sells those (just gray) does that mean its better then Tein or NRG ones? No...they come form the same company.

ASM is rebdaged Cusco, Cusco produces the parts for ASM, and ASM gets to paint it their own color and sell it as an ASM product. No big deal...its just if you are willing to pay the extra money for the different color.

Why would you make such as statement like ASM>Cusco? They product totally different parts...
hmm.. I see maybe with the smaller parts like the ladder bars and catch cans. I am just talking about the two company's quality of products as a whole... ASM (quality, parts) are better than Cuscos. Not to bash on Cusco but yeah.

What about the Cusco clutch? Doesnt Cusco rebadge Exedy in that dept?

^ Thats because it is the Cusco..just painted a differnt color. If you look at all ASM parts like their Floor bars, and the Lower Type II bar...they are all just rebadged Cusco parts.
This is the retarded statement, and I said so for two reasons. First, you used the Cusco part names instead of ASM part names for ASM parts, so I got confused. Second, and the part I was really talking about, is when you say that all ASM parts are rebadged Cusco parts -- that is ridiculous. Cusco does not even make their own parts, they get them from 3rd-party manufacturers. ASM builds most of their stuff in-house. How could they rebadge stuff they bulid in-house from scratch? Have you ever seen a Cusco carbon-fiber intake for an S2000? Or a titanium 70mm exhaust? Did they bootleg those from Cusco?

rebadging isn't the best term. parts are made by a factory in japan to specifications that the tuners provide to them. there are also instances where a tuner will just buy the generic product and include certain color or logo accessories with it that will differentiate their branding from others.

the asm looks exactly like the cusco. this doesn't neccesarily mean that cusco makes the asm, this most likely means that cusco and asm buy from the same factory. now if asm wanted to pay a higher price then they could buy the products from cusco, but i highly doubt that is happening so it is logical to believe that they are buying from the factory.

look at engine torque dampers, nobody is copying anyone in that department. they are just all made in the same factory and you pay for the color that you want.

there are only a handlful of companies that make their products inhouse, most tuners do not have the capabilities outside of moderate welding and fiberglass work to make much of anything.
