Well, i do apologize on my assumption and it was my mistake.

Even though you say your not trying to flame, but by the way i'm reading your statment, there seems to be a bit of a grudge. I hate arguing with people on any topic to be honest with you.

I'm not neglecting any cusco parts here....really. Like i said, i have way more cusco parts on my car than asm. If I'm trying to discourage any cusco parts, i would start with my own car.

I must be alluminum. I just held a magnet up to the ASM bar and it did not stick

If you are going to say it may bend (wich is possible I have seen spoon tie bars bend like tacos on the street and track) I will def. post that info up should it happen. I drive the car hard (canyons and track) if it bends I will let the other members of the site know

Anytime

For the record they are both quality parts. Cusco's part should be stronger, but is heavier, and cost about half the price. The ASM bar may not be as strong, but weighs less, and costs twice as much.

The ASM Floor Bar is made of chromoly, where the Cusco version is made of steel. ASM actually used the Cusco version for the first time attack vehicle (2003), but then decided to make their own version in chromoly to reduce the weight of that component, hence the ASM Floor Bar was born.

As for the Rear Lower Arm Bar, ASM produced this component right before Cusco decided too. At that time, Cusco was unwilling to produce that component because the S2000 came factory equipped with a rear lower arm bar. However, ASM recognized a weakness in the bar and produced one that resembled a "D" shape, where the stock one resembled a square "U" shape which would flex more.

last time I checked, chromoly is still steel, albiet a different molecular structure, but should still be magnetic. I've got a chromoly tie rod, panhard bar, and knuckles on my solid axle Tacoma at my garage...I'll go put a magnet up to them tomorrow and see if it sticks

I just put a magnet up to one of our Cusco chromoly cages and it stuck.

So I would assume the ASM bar is not chromoly since 'neveronlines2k' tried the magnet trick and it didn't work.

Anyone else with more insight?

To mend my post:

ASM: Aluminum at 6kg (13.2 lbs)
Other brands, such as Cusco: Steel at 9kg (19.8 lbs)

I just confirmed with ASM Japan.
