Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know how much power ASM's (Toda 2.4ltr) car make?

Both @ the engine & @ the wheel would be appreciated.

Cheers

Lots of good info here:

Scroll down for translated text.

"The normal AP2 engine on the catalog shows 240bhp or around 230bhp on the wheels but with this engine at the Toda Racing engine bench test gave 303bhp. Torque of over 28kgm with the flat line which makes it easy to control but also fast. Each part has been balance well and the clearance adjusted which gives a feeling of a racing engine. Even when you drive it slow you will be able to feel the quality of it. This weekend Terasaki Gen-san will come to ASM and adjust the ECU to match the engine. And it will be complete. "

It's considered a 2.35L engine.

The 2.35 uses the cast crank and the 2.4 uses the billet crank. The 2.4 from the Tsukuba Special also uses a dry sump so it produces about 320ps. However, the 2.4L has a very old head design, they said it can produce about 340-350ps now with updated specs.

Any idea why they stopped running car No. 2? The widebody car.

That's actually the engine from Car No.2 (widebody) and mixed and match some updated parts with it to get a little more power than it had before. They stopped running the Tsukuba Special because it was too far from a street car spec. But through the years, Car No.1 has evolved far from a street car too but at least it's still running street tires.
