Default Baseline Dyno

So, I baselined my S this last weekend. Bone stock engine.

As much as I'd like to put on a J's header/SuperSprint exhaust/AEM V2 intake, I'm not sure if I'd lose or gain.

Also thinking about a GReddy eManage Ultimate or Hondata reflash to drop my VTEC engagement to approx 4500 (smooth out the transition to VTEC, increase midrange power, midrange torque) and raise the rev limit to 8300/8400 since the dyno shows it pulling all the way to 8100.

My thought is that I'd lose something as most parts seem to be built for stock dynos of 190-205 when there's something obviously different about my engine. Some experienced friends believe bolt ons would give adds to my current baseline. Any advice from anyone with more tuning experience?

Dynapack

My buddy with an '06 with J's header, Mugen exhaust, Hondata Reflash, and test pipe pulled a 225 right after I pulled (a week or two ago he pulled 223 at a different dyno shop in Phoenix)

Thats strange. You may have a gifted S, or your buddies car may not be responding to well to a certain mod.

My baseline on a dynopack read 240hp, and 170tq. Was also told like you that it was higher then what most will get stock, especially the torque numbers.

Don't be afraid to mod the car. You just have to go with the right parts that will work well together for gains. all trial and error really.

I've been told my car was gifted aswell. Believe me if your car feels fast now in it's current condition then you will love it once you begin to upgrade.

My first mod was flywheel / clutch. Then I went on to get full bolt ons and the car felt amazing. I dynoed on a dynojet and hit 225whp/170wtq(conditions were horrible, probably would have been closer to 230 on a good day), and this was with no tune. If I went back to the same dynopack this would have probably read in the high 250-260 range, and who knows how high the torque would have been.

Don't believe people that say the S does not respond well to mods because many people have proven otherwise.

I assume you have a lightweight flywheel? Not 100% sure, but I read that the AP2 flywheels are heavier than AP1, probably due to the CDV. How does the CDV react/interacts with a different and lighter flywheel than stock? When it's time for me to get a new clutch, I want to get a light flywheel as well.

Dynapacks always dyno higher than all other because it's measuring power at the hub rather than at the wheel.

If you were on a Dynojet, you'd probably be around the normal 200 whp marker.

So yes... do mod if you plan on it cause it will help.
