On the subject of adjustable cam gears; do you reckon they're worth it, even on stock cams?
Not worth it at all. I bought them only because I am getting aftermarket cams when the time comes. They are very time consuming to adjust, especially for a tuner that has no experience with them. The tuner I am using knows where to start and it will still take 3 hours.

I say go EMU/education. I'm not talking about personal experience at all. I know Version knows his stuff, and could with a little determination learn to tune the car himself. I know it wouldn't be easy, but it'd be something you'd use the rest of your time with any car that can have EMU. You had connections with Works, anyway any of their staff could work you through the tuning yourself. I've often thought about taking that EFI 101 class that basicly teaches you how to tune EMS and EMU and VAFC yourself.

a monkey could tune a vafc, i been kinda wanting to take one of those EFI classes but man they're expensive. It cant be that hard, all your doing is adjusting injector pulse widths and timing, a good wideband and I'll be screwin with mine on my own.

vafc arent quite that easy to tune, if you want a good tune. and they only modify AFR and vtec, by using the TPS sensor. they are a very basic machine, but a well tuned one car yield great gains. i.e my car.

7whp just from like 30 mins of dyno on my car, but emanage has already done more than double that, thats why I'm switching. 7-10 more wheel is quite a bit considering its an S2000 hehe. I further tuned my vafc using a wideband on the street, running around 13.8:1 a/f's. If you unplugged it you could definitely feel the difference hands down. Definitely one of the most bang for the buck mods you can do IMO, but like a crack addict I just want more

I've been told by a local tuner that an E-manage is worthless because the tune doesn't work consistently. Supposedly if the conditions aren't identical to when it was tuned it gets all messed up.

On the same token they recently flashed my stock Evo up to 280awhp up from a supposed 170awhp. So they claimed a 110whp gain from their flash.

Isn't there a pretty big difference between the E-manage and the E-Manage Ultimate?

Greddy did have a lot of issues especially with their ecu's storing a tune. I think Greddy has come a long way. The Accord I mentioned has been dyno'd several times and has made consistent power every time. I'm somewhat confident Greddy straightened most of their problems out, I'll post up if I give them props, if it sux I'm going to Haltech. And

Project22a I got my Ultimate for < $500. I had close to that in just a vafc and harness.

Yeah, this shop seems to dislike both the E-manage Blue and the EU, which is why I brought it up. If you like it I'll just go to someone else to tune mine.
