Honestly I think the management you choose solely depends on what you have done and what you plan on doing. I'm NA so an EU is enough for what I'm doing, standalone would be nice but I think its a little much for an NA car. If you plan to make big hp then standalone is the way to go hands down. Most of the current standalones are out of my price range as well. I may step up to it some day, we'll have to see.
