if you want upgrades that won't break your bank, i recommend you ask your question under "under the hood" and not JDM forum. By association JDM means you will shell out more $ they your probably ready to pay.

the only thing worth buying thats "JDM" is the J's Header. No point in wasting thousands on some intake that gives less gain then a regular cold air would. and no point in buying an exhaust for over a thousand just because of the name, when you can have a better one that'l look nicer, sound better, and give same to better gains for cheaper. I do like the JDm stuff tough

I am not even sure about the Js header. We have only seen one dyno chart and whos to say that was accurate? Then everyone jumped on their bandwagon. Seeing Js parts on the track and on local members cars also fueled a lot of owners to buy the same parts.

J's Racing is a great company like the AEM of Japan. Best bang for the buck. But you also have to realize they arent the top manufacturer for every part. They dont make the best intake, header, exhaust, etc. They are up there but are not the best for any particular application. There overall package is up there though. Not sure about endurance races though.

I thought the J's Racing exhaust was the best?

So who is the best then. I am feeling the Mugen 2.2header for my car how do you rate them?

Not sure about the new header, but the old one was outstanding quality (you can expect this from pretty much all Mugen), and offered good mid-range gains, but no gains up top.

Although not justifiable to a lot of people, JDM parts are worth it to many. Sure I could get an exhaust from an American company of nearly the same quality that offers the same gains for half the price I payed for my Spoon. But I'll be so much happier with my Spoon exhaust when it arrives opposed to just getting an exhaust to be getting one.
Plus, I'm going to waste my money one way or another. If I bought cheaper parts, I'd just end up with extra cash and wish I had gotten the part I really wanted, regardless of price
There is an interesting article in Super Street about "JDM" it is interesting to see how the term had been overused. I agree about wanting the best and not left wondering about buying the other guys. The nice thing is the market seems to be opening up a little bit now and we have the genuine articles and the legit knock off's (like Rick's header). The JDM stuff can be a real rip off on price at times though and that's my biggest gripe.
