Where did you get the UR race pulleys?
Straight from Unorthodox lol, Shawn Baumgartner or sth like that is the guys name. One of the first 10 buyers actually, not a single problem, they're the same as OEM just lighter, like 5-6 lbs lighter total.

I think aluminum is probably fine, but when modding my car, I like to use the best quality parts within my reach. Aluminum's rate of expansion when heated is much faster than the steel starter gear that is pressed onto it, so this could mean shatter-death-leg-saw. Again, not likely, but a nice chromoly flywheel doesn't cost much more, so why not do that instead?

I had a Techno Pro Spirit 3.9kg chromoly flywheel mated to a Cusco Reinforced clutch on my old AE86 and it was streetable with about a week's worth of practice, though I still stalled it occasionally for the next couple years.
Because we have no torque capable of shattering anything lol. I got my flywheel for like $300. Whats the average S2K Chrome Moly flywheel weigh?

I used to work at a VW/Audi shop and we had Fidanza's in a ton of high hp turbo cars and never heard of any problems. VW's and Audi's break down so much they dont see much use haha.

The kick back would be due to a clutch pressure plate not the flywheel. You dont need a super aggresive clutch. Most people over-clutch their cars, which is ok to an extent but a street disc with heavy duty pressure plate on the ACT is good for 383 lbs of tq which is more than an NA S2k will ever produce. This ACT setup is sort of stiff, when I get into my buddies 06 it feels as easy as butter compared to mine. Remember worry about torque ratings on clutches not hp ratings, torque is what matters because its what breaks stuff. Most stage one kits for an NA car will be more than sufficient, I wouldn't go for a twin or triple disc or an unsprung setup. Good luck. Shock

I have that combo attack, I like it, it takes a little getting used to but it does just fine. I autocross the car all the time, never a problem, been to the strip 4-5 times launching at 6/7k rpms no problem. Had the combo in my last car too.

A mixture of flesh and bone.

But anyway, you should have read the rest of my post:

Aluminum's rate of expansion when heated is much faster than the steel starter gear that is pressed onto it. So imagine what happens when all that expanding aluminum has nowhere to go. Mad grenade.
It expands in the direction that it can? Aluminum is a malleable metal, why would it shatter so easily?
