In the US how much is the genuine Amuse hard top compared with the carbon fibre version of the genuine Mugen top?
Chris.

I bought my Mugen HT in 2003 used for $2500. A new CF one at the same time from King was $5000+ tax. Why on Earth would you pay $7000 for a brand new one 10 years later and the car out of production? Makes no sense. They should be under $5000 when you can pick up a used 2000 S2000 for under $10,000 cash.

Lol, it's called exchange rates.

exhanged rate has raised. it's $1 : 100 JPY now. but we won't see any price drop which is not fair.

While I agree with you,
the parts are just not worth that kind of money. You know, you have been around the S2000 scene long enough and I bet you remember the prices I quoted. They were like that for years.
So I thought I would update this...
As I suspected a shop I always bought from has them for similar prices. As you can see not much change in prices for new hardtops since 2003.
Mugen Hard Top
CFRP: $5649USD/$8474CDN So used this should be in the $3000-$4000 range.
GFRP: $2625USD/$3938CDN So used this should be in the $2000-$2100 range.
Now keep in mind this car is old and prices should be lower used than I quoted because a used S2000 can run $8000 bucks, maybe less.
