Default J's intake fitment

I have a used J's intake which was mostly installed by its owner. a couple of days ago, I unbolted the the chamber section from the snorkel and TB so that I would clean the filter and top portion of the snorkel. after cleaning, I tried bolting everything back together. When I got to clamp the middle CF piece (the circular piece where 4 8mm nuts are fitted) I tried to clamp the middle piece so that it would clamp over the rubber mouth / lining of the filter but I wasn't able to.

The filter was fitted properly to the chamber piece. However, when it came to securing the snorkel and chamber pieces together using the the middle piece, the filter's rubber lining was not situated in the area tightened by the middle piece's clamp.

I checked the original instruction installation sheet, but it have any pics regarding this. not to mention it was typed in Japanese.

I'd appreciate if any owner of J's intake would comment on how to properly secure the snorkel with the chamber.

I could really use some input now. Would someone just comment on how their intakr parts are bolted?

Thanks

Try to push the filter down more onto the intake chamber.

This part is a tricky thing to install. Eventually I fitted it. BUT my advise is to prepare and fit all its parts and make it as a complete assembly, and then to install it on your engine bay. Just make sure you dont tight hard the bolts in order to be able to adjust it while fitting it.

Hope I was understood.

My advice as well... pre-install everything, bolt it in but don't tighten it yet until everything is fitted to give yourself some room to work with.
