Default Mugen Hardtop (FRP)

So I just finished installing a used authentic mugen hardtop. I received the instructions in Japanese but still managed to install it. The minor problem I'm having; there is a small gap in the rear when it's latched all around. The gap on the sides seem ok and the front sits slighty lower than the top of the windshield. There is also wind noise when accelerating over 60mph, nothing dramatic but noticable. I'm curious to how much of a gap you guys have on the rear when the mugen top is latched on. Can you insert a #2 pencil in the gap?

Also, what do you use to keep the rear window clean and scratch free? Is windex safe or harmful?

I'll look at my hardtop tonight and see if I can take a picture for you. Is this a real Mugen HT? Basically the hardtop is adjusted the same way as the oem top.

Thanks for the link, my Mugen top is the real deal. Looks sweet, I just need to adjust a bit more I guess. Let me know how big of a gap you have in the rear just before the trunk. Thanks

You will have a small gap there b/c it sits ontop of the softtop. I'll try to remember and post pic of my gap.

I thought about that, I think the 2 little brackets with the circular rubber cushion that mount under the rear window of the Mugen HT has something to do with it. The top itself doesn't sit on the ST. I could be wrong...

Your hardtop should have come with shims. You need to add those as spacers to adjust the top.

Shims = triangleish metal pieces? 2 per side? I have them placed inbetween the top and the latches

Here are some pics I took last night, I placed my s2k factory romote to give you guys an idea how much of a gap I have. Notice the remote is slightly larger than the gap
