if you want, I'll send you the dyno breakouts loaded into excel...you'll see that at 6000 rpm, and again from 7000 to 7200, I'm 40hp above stock. Before that, it's climbing, between that, it hovers around +35 hp, and after that, settles to about +30 hp peak.

I spent alot of time tabulating the data from my dyno sheets, as well as many others in the old NA thread. The numbers are there, whether you want to believe me or not
I believe you, just saying from what I could see it seemed in the 30-35hp range; more power to ya if its even higher

especailly with the unnatural powerband a turbo gives you. ya, its great for 40 rolls, but its funny you never see those guys on the circuts. even with my lowly NA setup i was able on our last MT. Baker run to push my car alot harder and for BRIEF periods even pull on the CTSC guys from certain corners. all because i can stay in the 6-9k range and be able to USE my power, wheras the big boys had to tip toe through then jump on it.

now, im not saying id never want an FI setup, but the true nature, the sould of this car is NA. like ERL said, NOTHING, and i mean NOTHING, is more fun and soul stirrung than a highly tuned NA machine.
We just had a little discussion on that

A turbo setup actually makes the powerband of the s2k even better then it is. It'll create a flat torque curve with great linear power only everything is shifted up (torque) or to the left (hp), aka more power but still delievered in the same way. A SC actually doesn't keep the natural powerband of a s2k as the torque curve sucks (jumps all around). But this is all off topic, so back on topic

^you're right - turbo graphs show the stock powerband only moreso. The SC graphs are more exponential, not linear like the N/A or turbo.

Yeah but its still FI. Nothing comes close to the feeling of a highly tuned NA machine. Once you go turbo im my eyes, you just have a fast car and nothing else. What are you gona do with 400whp+ on the track or lets say the dragon.
oh I agree, N/A all the way

Aside from it being my DD, I primarily play with this car on the autocross course, where any form of FI would be absolutely useless to me, hence why I went ITB's

For autocross, I don't believe you could run a better setup, period.

Last I checked they made 10-20hp midrange, no where near 50. I'd like to see a dynoprint out of your car (all the others seemed in the range I said, 10-20)

and click on the power graph

(not my engine, I hasten to add!).

Note that the ITB kit on that engine is the Jenvey kit (throttle linkage is the dead giveaway), and the dyno plot they offer is the same one from jenvey's website.

@ wildcardtrd I read your complete write-up on your Jenvey ITB install, and just like many others I think it is absolutely beautiful. I would like to know if there were any functions in your dash that were disabled (I thought I read that somewhere), caused by the standalone engine management?

are there any people in the UK with an S2000 who had their cars upgraded (and the engine management (DTA etc) set up) at Racenginedesign or Clockwisemotion? I get the impression that their main business is to transplant these engines into kitcars and classic cars. How do you feel about their expertise and parts for the F20C engine compared to TDI, Toda, J's Racing?

I hope these aren't too many questions!

Kind regards,
Kristof.

Get a 70mm single, gut your trunk, and take out the passenger seat, door panels, and radio/speakers. Make sure you tune aggressively and use drag radials. 4.57 gears will be best for 1/4 mile. You need to launch like a madman and keep a 2.0 60' and shift like you're trying to break the transmission.

You'll be close

To the OP....would be great if you did everything in steps and ran the 1/4s so we can see what each thing does. Start with the weight loss program. It would be interesting to see what stripping out some of the non-essentials would net you in the 1/4.
