has anyone had a cat catch fire from using a silencer, or have had a CEL for overheating cat?

I'm a bit worried about this. I know one guy that had a CEL and another who's cat caught fire on a Civic. I don't know how hard they were driving the cars though and I don't know what the mods were.

I'm thinking about modifying the silencer so that it flows a little more air but quiets things down a bit. I plan on cruising without the thing 90% of the time, but sometimes it would be nice to not d-r-o-o-o-o-n-e.

My idea is to have a ship use a drill press to put a couple holes on the plate at the end of the silencer between the small pipe and the larger diameter piece.
