all you have to do is a ground a wire on the ecu harness. I dont remember the exact wire, i'm sure if you do a search you can find it. I had the spoon ecu previously.
As for testing to make sure the ECU works why not turn the Key and hook up a OBD Scanner. If it reads the ECU then the ECU isn't fried.

Also make sure you're running 94 Octane in canada, since it was built around 93 I believe
it cant be worst then my old ap1 03 it was on it, and yeah im only running petro can 94 oct. Its crazy how now the vtec pull much harder then my ap1 03 ecu...the 8 to 9k got power now. I really love this ecu!

You would think Spoon would lean out the mixture since even 03's ecu's still ran rich.
1 dyno pull is all you need, shouldn't cost more then $50 plus you get to see some results on paper
