If I was closer I would. But mine are painted now but even the best set of Cwest fenders Auto RnD had I think were better than the Varis. I am just going by your pics and the TAS pics VS Wills fenders and mine. 2x2 weave also with that clearcoat kinda throws them off. Thats all I was saying.

Remember if you paint them its not an issue.

You can see mine now in my sig.

Jon you know I am not hating, just stating an observation from the pics you supplied us with.
ok did u take pic of ur cwest fenders? before in ur car. and post it here not small pic..
did u cut ur fenders to make it feet?

CWEST IS NOT CARBON FIBER...
Cwest is a HCC. Which is Honeycomb composite. Its basically a thin layer over Carbon Fiber.

Sorry no pics.. They had some from the Spugen meet but thats all I got. No misweaves on my set or Wills but there were some small blotches.
Varis I have seen misweaves by your pics.
I actually cut my fenders in order to run fatter tires which you dont have to do but mine was all custom done so it looks like nothing was cut out.

Correct! HCC or whatever they want to call it is just Carbon fiber(or kevlar) sandwiching a honeycomb structure of some type, which is similar to a process used in F1 and military grade aerospace as well as ultralite gliders. Axle Diffusers also partialy constructed with honeycomb centers for some structural integrity.

Again it is Carbon Fiber. The Honeycomb composite is a thin layer merged with CF. If you actually look at it before you install it matches my J's hood and Mugen front bumper. Only difference is they spray a top coat (which gives it a dry carbon look, which it is not) which you can scatch off. When you scratch it off the Carbon Fiber underneath looks identicle to my Mugen intake box.

HCC is lighter... and C-West's design is much cleaner IMO... The reason people would most likely say the Varis is better quality, would be the fact that the material doesn't look as "finished" as a totally carbon fender, but I don't think looks alone determine "quality", especially since I'd paint em anyways...

I agree.

Jon this shouldnt be about which product is better. Both have their pros and cons and IMO they are equal even though I stated Cwest looks better. What I meant by that is the weave pattern and clearcoat are totatally different between the two. Fitment is identicle to OEM. You really cant beat that. I think Varis is the same on fitment from what I have seen. I just think that Varis charges a little too much for what you get. Then again you can say that about Cwest too. No way I would pay $4300 for a hood.
