Judging from the fitment, I would say the fenders of both brands are in great quality, CWest has the nice clear look while the Varis is very aggresive.
I want to get a set of CWest fenders myself but the waiting time is ridiculus.

PCC is polyester carbon composite.

I will email CwestJapan and see if they can clear this up. I am not going to email CwestUSA because they are still new to the scene here.
Regardless if its HCC or PCC its still Carbon Fiber. Bottom line.
I actuallly emailed Garage Defend Japan and Cwest Japan.

After seeing all these pictures of the Varis fenders I really dont think the quality is better than ASM or Cwest. Thats just what I see. In all honesty the fenders look identicle in CF weave/pattern/clearcoat as most of the "style" CF hoods out there which is the look I dont like. Again, thats just me. Any input guys or is it just me?
Here's what Varis has to say:
"Three elements of strength "" rigidity "" light weight conversion "the advanced carbon fiber (the carbon) are the feature which it has, are one of the big reasons where the carbon is diversified in motor sport field. With VARIS carbon fiber (carbon) even among them * 1 filament several 1,000 (1K)? 12,000 (12K), * to use the 2UD carbon mainly, furthermore the alamid fiber * 3 (Kevler), the glass fiber with intended purpose selection. Light weight and high rigidity the aero part is produced by is done combining. * The numbers of 1, filaments are the number of carbon threads which are used for the bundle of 1 carbon fiber. (Example: In bundle of 3K = 1 carbon fiber, 3,000 these carbon threads use) * The carbon fiber where are woven only 2, unidirectionally. * 3, alamid fibers (Kevler), it is the high functional material which is used in space exploration, the aircraft and the racing car etc. the composite material, as a reinforcement fiber."
Personally, I love Varis CF products and I have a Varis CF hood on order for my Lexus SC300.
To answer the original poster's questions...

One quick note about C-West USA. Please dont discredit them. The President of C-West USA is Takuya Omoto. You may recognize the last name because he is a direct relation to Omoto san, President of C-West Japan. I think that Omoto san of C-West USA has the resources to answer product questions accurately. Somehow this thread feels like people are discrediting C-West USA which shouldnt be so. MotorRex, the previous distributor certianly had their problems, but the situation has changed since those days.

All in all, CF weave quality doesn't mean jack to me. I'm going to paint whatever I get anyways. As long as it's a structually sound and light weight product w/ great durability and fitment, I'm a happy customer. I think Cwest, J's Racing, ASM, Varis, Mugen, etc. can all accomodate my needs. That said, I think fitment, weight, and long term structure durability should be the main concern.
Ben, has anyone test fitted a set of J's Racing fenders. Are they too Wide? (40mm seems like a lot)
JonJos, I'd like to hear more about the Varis fenders. Fitment was good right? Are you utilizing the wider fender feature (i.e. lower offset wheels or super wide front tires.) How much wider are they? Did they bolt up to the bumper and doors nicely?
Thanks
Ryan
