I apologize for taking so long (too much going on at the moment); ask and you shall receive

I just realized it was not the race you were describing
This one is not too eventful; Tsuchiya misses a shift at around 3 minutes into the video. He was passed before that, but never recovers.

As mentioned above the Type v s2000 is slower than the regular S2000. The conversion to vgs is quite in depth and not worth the time and money....why spend thousands to make your S slower? Doesn't make sense in my view anyhow.

That's what I have figured thus far -- as for cost anyways. I am not sure that I am convinced about the performance of the dynamic ratio, however -- not that I could verify it for myself.

I agree that having a ratio that changes faster than a driver can adapt to is not a good thing -- it could just mean that it was not meant for the touge. I am not saying just because you can buy a product from Honda means that it will be advantageous, although they have come up with crazier things that people do not seem to care for that seem to work well for their application (for example, I think it is called "ATTS" for the 5th generation Preludes).

Yeah, it would probably be hell to put it into the S2000... especially for LHD -- though, I do not think that Honda would risk putting something that added expense, weight and, er, "dart-y-ness" to an otherwise well-made sports car if there were no gains to be made. That's just me though -- then again, while I was in Formula SAE, we were working on something (unfortunately, I doubt I could say) that was in the same spirit... other than mechanical difficulty, the driver could not anticipate what the car would do -- but, it did not make the car slower to my knowledge.

I think I got off on a tangent... anyway, yeah, it may not be worth it for the gains/no-gains -- certainly more difficult that I can handle at the moment, especially without too much community experience. I have another project underway that I could not brag about on the forums until it was done -- as for this thread, I kind of expected this response -- not to say it is invalid, I just wanted to see if there was information. I would like to strip my car for time trials in the future; I was thinking of possible options as the purpose of this was to have a project instead of something necessarily competitive.

Yah, I am stupid like that -- but, I appreciate the comments, I really do.
