Rebuilt F22C short block with:
13011-PCX-024 OEM Piston rings
4B1912H-STD ACL Race Main Cap bearings
5M1913H-STD ACL Race Rod bearings
001T1957-STD ACL Race Thrust Washer
F22C Block purchased used from John at LHT Performance with light scoring in Cylinder 3.
F22C Crankshaft is from a good running AP2 motor with ~80k miles, no damage to any of the journals.
F22C Pistons and rods were purchased used from Chris at Inline Pro.
This is just the rotating assembly, no oil pan, oil pump, or timing stuff.
Build Process:
I have honed all cylinders using a Wiseco hone to achieve proper crosshatch for new ring seal according to section 7-16 of the S2000 Service Manual.
I mic'd all four piston skirts to confirm within spec for p-to-w clearances and measured ring gap of bores according to section 7-14 of the S2000 Service Manual. (<0.0015 inch)
All bores measured and show small amount of taper as expected on a used block that has not been overbore for larger pistons.
Brand new +06 OEM piston rings clocked according to section 7-12 of the S2000 Service Manual.
Brand new ACL Race STD bearings throughout, shuffled until Plastigauge measurements were consist as possible (0.002 inch)
Chrome-moly assembly lube used on bearing surfaces.
Meticulously put together in the same garage I built my F24 that is still running strong (no oil consumption)
Notes:
Cylinder 3 has two score marks that catch a fingernail after honing, they do not run the full length of the bore, as stated in section 7-16 of the S2000 Service Manual this is acceptable. The F24 I built also had a score mark that caught a fingernail but didn't run the length of the bore and has no caused any problems with oil consumption or compression.
750lb Engine Stand included
