I really dont want to spend the $$ on the tool from Comptech, and dont have the resources to fabricate one to use. Does anyone want to sell, or RENT me their crank tool?

Also need a helms for '02, used or new, thanks

I also need a t-stat, rad cap and switch, spoon or mugen

I went to my local Honda dealer and they let me use their tool for free. They only took a CC deposit from me. You may want to try that before you buy one since you will probably only use it once.

19mm is the size of the crank bolt. You also need a tool to hold the crank pulley before you begin loosening the bolt (crank pulley removal tool). Otherwise when you turn the crank bolt you will just turn the crank.

Be prepared when you do this that it will take some serious breaker bars to get it loose. I think this was the hardest part of the SC install.

Yeah, 2 years ago, friend of an acquaintance, but a SC in his S, and I think this may have been the part when they where just shy of jumping on it, to get it to turn.

Is this tool really necessary or can it be done with an impact wrench like all other Honda crank pulley bolts?

An impact wrench won't fit between the pulley and the frame beam that runs across the engine bay. You need the pulley holder to remove the bolt.

Hey Rod
If you can find good deal on the Helm, please let me know too.
I got a Honda Factory Service Manual in CD, but it's for 00 - 01. They are most likely the same as our 02 or 03, if you interested to take a look at the CD, I will do you a favor. hehehe .. Email me with you address again if so.
