It's always worked in the past, and it worked for Mani on Friday. Not quite sure why it didn't work better on Saturday. Next time I'll try a bigger duct and a passenger side one too.

That blower would be good, but then it wouldn't be as easy put it on/off. The heater came out a long time ago, and the wiring isn't there any more either. You can see that the hose was working, it's perfectly clear right above the dash

And I wouldn't really call it a race. After I got past the Acura, it was just a matter of keeping it clean and finishing. I don't think anybody was actually fighting for position.
whatever Matt, that was a race. The fact that you couldn't see just makes it that much better that you won.

Had a good time on the track with the Porsche Club of America Potomac today. This is the first time I've had the S on the tight Jefferson Circuit. The Porsche guys are really nice, not a single blow-hard was in sight and my student was a quick study. The S kicked some high dollar tail today. I have some HD video but my fancy ass video editor is generating a black screen when told to render the final cut.

I'm heading out tomorrow to run TT with the SCCA.

Matt,

Yes, one of the students said that just after the apex of Jefferson's Turn 7 my inside front wheel was completely off the ground. I'm assuming it should with my the front swaybar set as stiff as it is.

I got good news and bad news from the SCCA Club Time Trials at Summit Point Shenandoah. We had 11 cars running TT and I took second overall behind Fred Kelly in a Cobra replica. I took more than 3 seconds off my best lap with a 140.2. The Cobra turned a 139.7.

That's the good news. In the afternoon practice I think I dropped a valve in the rearmost cylinder. The spark plug is beat to crap so something is clunkling around in there. It might have been caused by oil starvation in Big Bend, a long fast left hander. No I don't have a baffled oil pan (just ordered one today), and no I never did the banjo bolt fix (will be done when engine is repaired).

It also could have been a valve retainer. The pisser is that I was planning to pull the valve cover and do an adjustment (just got the cool special valve adjustment screwdriver) so I probably would have seen the cracked retainer and saved the engine. Oh well.

Fred, the Cobra guy, was nice enough to trailer my car home for me. I have to decide by tomorrow what to do. I'm leaning toward towing it to Hagarstown Honda, but I cringe at paying dealer prices for at minimum a new piston, rings, cylinder bore, possibly a new head and valves. Could be expensive. Anyone have a suggestion for an independent shop in Frederick, Hagerstown, or Martinsburg?
