that was my last autox. It started to rain..and it was brutal. But I had fun.

One of the instructors determined i was 'going to slow' and that he should 'show me how to drive my car' since he was from a RWD background. Needless to say, he spun out my car... then tried to blame it on the Vtec - since he wasn't used to it.

What club was this and who was the "instructor"?

Any instructor who spins out a students car is an idiot.

My very first auto cross instructor did the same thing to my car and he drove my car more than I did that day, so I never came back . It was supposed to be an autocross clinic, he showed me how to drift my car many times .

^^^You just got taken advantage of. I've never had an instructor ask to drive my car. My first instructor warned me of that.

An instructor should be able to convey his instruction through a combination of verbal and visual description. Rob also asked if I was comfortable if he helped make adjustments with the wheel. That was no problem to me. The fact that he asked before doing so was confidence inspiring.

Try HPDE and autoX days. Cross your fingers for a good instructor. If you get a poor instructor that's pushing you past what you're comfortable with see the event coordinator and switch instructors. You're the one paying for the event.

You're right, I realized it after a while. I never mentioned it to anybody except to one guy. Since I open this up already, I'm going go ahead and say he weight about 280 lbs and 5' 6", my driver seat was stretched way out when I took over.

This is one of the reason I'm always hesitant to go to a drivng clinic.

Sorry, hope I did not take this thread too much out of topic .
Well, Ron, I have lost most of the weight now. Can I drive your car again?
